"Jess Moody (and family) have been such a huge help in mentoring me and helping me to improve my riding. I started learning in a riding school and it wasn’t until I started riding at Jess’s that I realised how much I still had to learn! Throughout the time I was at their yard I learned so much in both riding and the care of horses. I even managed to start attending local show jumping shows and one day events; this immensely helped my riding due to the fact that I was riding in different situations and was getting new experiences to learn from. When I needed help with my riding Jess was always on hand to give advice, tips and one- on-one lessons which increased both my confidence and skills. She even allowed me to ride several of her horses, so that I could experience how different horses rode and how to handle different temperaments; this is a huge help as I am now going on a horse safari and will feel very confident with whatever type of horse I am given! I would definitely recommend Jess as a teacher/instructor as she is a calm, patient teacher who has had a lot of experience herself. My confidence grew immensely throughout all of the lessons, and nothing was too little to ask of her! She helped with all the aspects of riding including first aid, jumping and flat work!"

'Ive known jess since she was a little girl..pony mad! When I first made the move to lambourn in 2002 I kept my horse there and my daughters pony..what fun times we all had..hacks out with the whole yard..pony shows..always doing something fun! Ive seen Jess grow up around horses and ponies of all types from the most laid back to ones that spend more time on their back legs and nearly sitting on their bums! Jess has always handled each situation with a calm and patient approach which is why when the time came to send my youngster Spirit away to to broken I had no hesitation but to use Jess. She was so good with him and has a seat I am very envious of..always quiet in the saddle and makes it all look so easy. Jess was always very accommodating and would work with me on ideas and always at the end of the phone if I needed help at home. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend jess for training either yourself or your horse..my only disappointment is that she has now moved too far away for me to continue using her talents!'

"I have now bought 2 wonderful horses from Jess (CatchMeIfYouCan and Carlo) and would highly recommend anyone needing a horse to look at Ashtree Sports Horses. With both horses, I described to Jess what i was looking for and she went out of her way to find something suitable for me. Both horses i have bought have been exactly as described and suited my needs and my riding ability perfectly. They were both fit, healthy and i have/am realising the potential in them that they were sold with. Buying horses can be a gamble in all honestly but Jess took this risk out of it for me and if i ever need another horse, Jess will be my first call."

"I have no hesitation in recommending Jess Moody & Ashtree Sport Horses although we have not known her very long. We purchased our horse from Jess in June this year and the first thing to note is the advert was true to its word, as was everything Jess has told us since then about Flashy. They were very accommodating and flexible, happy to arrange viewings and help us resolve our transport problem at relatively short notice. Jess comes across as a person who truly cares about the future of her horses and finding the perfect match for them. We are also very grateful for the on-going friendship and support she freely gives to my daughter who has just started eventing. Flashy is a wonderful horse who we love dearly and I thank Jess for her honesty and helpfulness, our dealings with her have proved to be stress free and fruitful."

"I first met Jess Moody at Dauntsey Horse Trials 2 years ago, when my daughter first started eventing her young horse Monty. They were new to BE and Jess was (unusually for someone of her age,) very supportive and encouraging and this went a long way in making our day very memorable especially when Erin came away in 7th place! Jess continues to impress us with her total dedication to her horses and her mature and professional outlook is amazing for someone of her age! so much so that when my daughter was busy with exams last year I was thrilled when Jess offered to take the ride on Monty (this was not an easy task and she would often travel over an hour each way to ride him mid week). They made a successful combination and his flat work improved greatly as a result! I have sent my youngster to Ashtree for breaking with her and her boyfriend Nick and again, their professionalism and easy manner resulted in a very happy result for us! Would highly recommend Jess and her whole family who work as a formidable team, whether you are in need of tuition for yourself or your horse! Or indeed just a little support which makes the difference between enjoying the sport of horses to downright "Loving it!" Thank you Ashtree"

"Jess has now been teaching me a year, since I got my horse. From day one Jess has always been willing to help and given me a lot of confidence in my riding and that I can do it. Even though Jess can be firm in her lessons she teaches, they are always good and at the end I always feel I have learnt something. She always gives me a goal that I know both me and my horse can achieve whether it’s something small or bigger. Jess is always willing to help and will always answer a text or a call if I need help with something more straight forward that she can explain the answer to. All in all Jess is great fun and a knowledgeable instructor which I have no hesitation to recommend to others."

Jessica Moody has been coming to my yard to give lessons and coaching, not only for me, but for a number of my clients for just under a year. I had been struggling to lighten my horse from the forehand and on one particular horse, had previously been told it was simply the way he was built. I was also loosing valuable marks in my dressage as I was not riding my test accurately enough. Having an instructor who was prepared and able to get on and show me it was possible, and explain to me in an easily understood way, renewed my resolve to keep trying. My horses have never gone better, I can now feel when it is right and my dressage which usually let me down when eventing has improved beyond recognition as has my ability to ride an accurate test! Jessica is a great technician who is not afraid to correct your shortfalls. She is supportive, sympathetic yet honest in her feedback and at no time did I ever feel she was simply paying me lip service and taking my money. I would highly recommend her to anyone serious about improving their riding. Go and meet her, watch her riding and ask yourself wouldn't you like to look that good on a horse.

'Since moving to Ashtree Farm back in July 2013, Jess has been fantastic in helping myself and my daughter with the retraining of our ex-racehorse Bibi and also helping me improve my cob's way of going. She never makes you feel stupid in anyway, is always there to lend a hand and is very happy to give advice at anytime. Jess is a competent sympathetic rider and i would recommend her to anyone wanting there young horses schooling whatever the discipline.'

'I write to recommend Ashtree Sports Horses. I am not brave enough to event myself but I love the sport. I purchased my mare age 4 and she was sent directly to Jess at Ashtree Sports Horses. Although not traditional breeding for an eventer (arab x welsh) she has a good look and is lovely and balanced. Jess and her family spent weeks getting to know her and working out what makes her tick. Jess’ consistent and caring riding together with the excellent nutrition she received due to Mandy’s experience meant that Pearl started to develop almost from day one! Pearl is not the most straight forward of horses she needs a consistent, confident and kind approach but Jess was able to move her forward in so many areas. Her ground work with Pearl meant that Pearl was a safe horse to be around, including clipping and loading, progressing to learning to stand on the lorry whilst at shows something I was unsure she would ever achieve. Jess made us feel really involved with Pearl’s progress, I enjoyed weekly visits to see her being ridden, attended jump coaching with Jess and Joss Gray. We also worked out together a programme of events for Pearl to be entered. I really appreciated Jess getting civilized start times so I, at least, had no early starts or late finishes. Jess rode Pearl at Aston-Le-Walls she gained a 9th on her first outing and a 2nd on her second outing. I would highly recommend Jess, she is an exceptional communicator with her horses and clients! It was very enjoyable to have a horse ridden by Jess and I would like to do it again sometime.' Karen Greig Oxfordshire

'To say my horse is quirky would be a bit of an understatement! My confidence jumping him had taken a bit of a hit as whilst he loves to jump his enthusiasm sometimes gets the better of him and we end up cat leaping fences! I've been having lessons from Jess since last spring and our jumping has come on in leaps and bounds (no pun intended!) Jess is really patient and in our lessons we've been able to progress so much - resulting in Boyga and I competing in and completing the Milton Keynes 3DE in September! I look forward to my lessons again this year after the winter break, with a view to complete at least one BE this season!'

Jess at Ashtree is the best teacher my daughter has ever had, back in October my little girl had a fall off my horse and broke her shoulder, I never thought I would get her back on a horse but with Jess's patients and very good teaching she did it. I would strongly recommend Jess to boost confidence and teach everything you need to know about riding. Jess is not like your every day riding school where you turn up and the pony is all tacked up, Jess taught my daughter from start to finish, Catching the pony, Grooming (which brushes to use), Tacking up ( plus different tack which you don't see every day), Riding ,Untacking, Feeding, Basically everything you need to know to have your own pony. I would like to say a big thank you to Jess for getting my little girl back riding.
