Its been a busy couple of weeks here at Follyfoot, Midget,Amber & Spirit had their first cross country school of the year and both older ones were as fab as always even if Amber and I did part company briefly haha, I think she was more confused than I was as to what I was doing on the fall as it was the first time I had come off her.
Both are feeling incredably well and I cant wait to get them out and partying now!!
Spirit was having his first play at Boomerang and did everything asked of him so we were very pleased with.
Last weekend we had a double weekend at Aston-Le-Walls with the younger horses. Hovis & Beemer were there for the intro on the Saturday.
Beemer had an unfortunate start to the day pulling a shoe of when getting on the lorry to leave so that had to be put back on before we started and as he doesnt like farriers at the best of times, a strange farrier at an event was rather stressful for him. So he did a rather tense test to score 42 but redeemed himself by do an awesome double clear.
Hovis was having his first proper outing since the end of his pointing career and he didnt let himself down! He did a smart test to score 37 (even gaining an 8 for his canter), had one down showjumping and a silly glance off at the influential corner & water cross country but otherwise gave me a very encouraging ride.
We returned on the Sunday with Gordan & Pearl. Gordan was having his first event and was in the intro and what a star he was. He did a beautiful test to score 25.5 and gained a massive 10 8's!!! He was lieing 4th after dressage out of 37, had just the planks down showjumping and a lovely clear cross country for 6th (would have been 2nd without the 4 faults)
so very impressive for first time out but he is now officially for sale :-(.
Pearl was in the pre intro and did a smart test again for 31.5, so was 12th after dressage out of 43. She just had one down showjumping and stormed round the cross country to finish 9th so very happy with her.
We have had Nicks cousin Charlotte here with us all week which has been fantastic and really good fun. All the horses have enjoyed lovely long hacks and abit of added jumping fun today, sadly she has now gone back home but hopefully will come back soon as was a massive help and a joy to have around!!
So next on the list hopefully is Midget at Hambledon next Friday for the BE100. Followed by Moreton Morrell with Hovis for the BE90, Beemer for his first BE100 & I have picked up an extra ride on the awesome Montreal Skyline in the BE90 whilst his owner Erin Angel is sitting her GCSEs. Then Broadway with Pearl for the BE80 and Midget for hopefully his first Novice. Followed by Amber for the pre novice & either Gordan or the next horse from Shane haha to Aston-Le-Walls unaffiliated.
So still rather chaotic here but fingers crossed the next time I write it will be from our new yard :D
